India Tamil Nadu Wind Farm

$0.01 per kg

This project involves the installation of wind turbine generators in Veerakeralamputhur Taluk and Udumalaipettai Taluk, located respectively in the Tirunelveli and Coimbatore districts of Tamil Nadu, India. It has established a cluster of six NEG Micon wind electricity generators of 0.75 MW and 1.65 MW, for a total installed capacity of 9 MW. The generated power from this project is wheeled through the southern regional grid, currently dominated by fossil fuel-based power generation. Generating power from wind is a clean technology as no fossil fuel is burnt and no GHG gases are emitted during the process. The net electricity generated from this project's activity is 20,000 MWh/yr, while its annual GHG emissions reduction is estimated to be 18,539 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent.
